Hmm... curious package deal of opinion ... you might need to explain yourself on the physics of climate and the history of geological events.

FWIW Christianity post Nicaea did not save the Roman Empire or its skills and knowledge base. History does not repeat etc ... the carbon pulse is a one-off ... but it has tended to reassert itself successively in the Holocene, where agrarian assets allow.

Agree that Christianity didn't save the Roman empire, and it won't save Modernity either (praise be!). Re CAGW I thought the first half of 'climate: the movie' was pretty good. You might find this of interest: https://elizaphanian.com/?p=273

I pretty much agree with everything you’ve said, but I think conventional Christianity is in dire need of rethinking if it is to provide us with a way out of this mess. Nor do I think it is the only one of the world’s spiritualities to provide “a best fit with reality”.
