Will you resist Sufism? Rumi? Is there only the Islam of the Wahabbi and the (physical) Jihadis? And what about (sorry) evangelical Zionists, who would see Palestinians wiped from the face of the Holy Land?
I'll discuss the sufis in a measure of detail - I really like Rumi - but the grounds on which I like Rumi are that he is most Christ-like of all the Muslim teachers. Ergo..
This happens so often with Abrahamics, the inability to acknowledge there is truth, particularly spiritual truth, outside the confines of a particular dogma. In this sense, you are committing the same sin your fellow Muslim Abrahamics are committing. It's like you're shouting at a mirror. I have to second David Simpson, are you gonna resist the Sufis too? They are quite often perennialists. The Buddhists? The Hindus? The Taoists? Spirituality is about harmony in the end, and while it is sometimes necessary to choose cacophony, you have to be damn sure you tried very hard to achieve harmony before being allowed to choose cacophony. Big lesson of the Mahabharata.
Please point out where I refuse to acknowledge truth from outside my own tradition. That is precisely the opposite of what I believe. Perhaps you are shouting at a mirror?

Reading the comments, I’d say you touched a nerve Sam.
Amen. Thank you for the encouraging word. May we all have the courage to resist whatever is contrary to the lordship of Christ and his kingdom.

I mean there would be no need to resist Islam, (at least on religious grounds) if there is truth in it.
Hi Carlos - just put something more substantial on the stack in response to your comment here. Hopefully my position is now clearer than it was.
